ACE the Bar Program
South Texas College of Law Houston is dedicated to building a comprehensive bar-preparation program to assist each alumni in passing the bar exam. In November 2016, a new mentoring program was launched matching alumni mentors to assist bar examinees with their bar exam preparation. The program is called ACE the Bar and is designed to provide Accountability, Commitment, and Encouragement for all South Texas Law students and alumni preparing for the bar exam.
If you are interested in volunteering your time and bar preparation expertise to assist bar examinees with their bar exam preparation, please consider signing up to be a Mentor. Alumni Mentors will be matched with examinees to help keep them motivated, provide help with time and stress management, and answer questions about how to successfully prepare for the next bar exam. If you are interested in serving as a Mentor for the upcoming February bar exam, please complete the online Bar Mentor Sign Up Form by Thursday, December 8, 2016.
If you are studying for the bar exam in February as a first time taker or a repeat taker, please consider taking part in this new program to aid you during your bar preparation. To be matched with a Mentor, please complete the online Bar Mentee Sign Up Form by Thursday, December 8, 2016.
Orientation and Meet & Greet for the February Bar Exam
An Orientation and Meet & Greet with Mentors and Mentees will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 6:00-7:30 PM in the Atrium at the law school. The 30 minute Orientation program for the Mentors will provide materials for the program, guidelines and serve as a resource for questions and suggestions from both administration and fellow alumni Mentors. The Meet & Greet will give Mentors an opportunity to meet their assigned Mentees.
